March 25 – Shot boxing for the first time (September 2017) soon after I started doing “assignments” for the Outer Banks Sentinel newspaper. It was a special set of youth matches that included girls and boys, ages mid-teens upward that was held at the Kellys’ Restaurant in Nags Head.
I learned quickly that shooting boxing is exceptionally challenging, especially when you don’t know all the nuances of the sport. Key is that they have to be facing you to “get the shot.”
This was the only boxing event to be held on the OBX since I’ve been here. Kellys and the Sentinel are no more. Things change, that’s for sure.
