Daily sports photo #38

April 16 – One of the most memorable games in baseball: I’ve just finished watching (again) the 1996 College World Series Championship game with Miami playing LSU. It was the 50th CWS to be played. LSU’s Warren Morris hit a two-out, two-run walk-off homer before a record crowd of 23,905 at Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha, NE.

I saw my first game at Rosenblatt on June 9, 2001. My best friend Brent and I would then go to every CWS game at Rosenblatt for 10 years straight until they moved the CWS to Ameritrade Park near downtown Omaha. We went to the inaugural season in 2011, but it wasn’t the same. The new park didn’t have the same magic. Omaha sold out to the greed of the NCAA.
