March 26: Photos can be therapeutic.
Whew, what a night tonight. I was definitely in a foul mood. Not a happy camper. Disgusted by the lunacy and pettiness of small minds. But, I’ll spare you the cause of my funk.
But then I ran across this picture that I took earlier tonight. I took it at the local girls high school softball game. First Flight was playing their cross-town rivals Manteo. Always a good game to watch when these two teams meet regardless the sport.
Tonight was First Flight’s night. They were certainly hitting the ball where they ain’t. They had the pitcher’s number dialed in. The score was 2-0 First Flight and time was running out on Manteo.
If you’ve ever been to a girls softball game you know that there usually is a LOT of screaming, cheering, and chanting! Such was the case tonight. Not sure what the Manteo girls were chanting (I really try to drown it out) but whatever it was the Manteo pitcher had to stop her windup during one chant and chuckle. The chuckle soon developed into a fun laugh.
I mean she was grinning ear-to-ear as she walked the diameter of pitcher’s circle all the while pounding the ball into her glove. The image really struck me. Here was a girl that was trying as hard as she could to win, but at that time was loosing, it didn’t look good for the Mudville 9. But she still found time to laugh. Remember, it’s only a game.
Thank you girls, I needed that.
Until next post be safe, be kind, and to those who might be going through some tough times and may be in a foul mood, think of the simple things and simple times and chuckle. Hopefully it will develop into a belly laugh.
