July 19: Celebrating part of North Carolina’s history.
Well, got back home after a much too brief baseball trip to Wilson and Kinston North Carolina. There was a large crowd Saturday as the Wood Ducks gave away Kinston Collard Green jerseys to the first 1,000 fans.
The Wood Ducks would take the name the “Kinston Collard Greens” for the weekend to celebrate the states history of agriculture.
I’m not a fan of collard greens. In fact, won’t/can’t touch them. But the jerseys looked old school and that was cool. The “Greens” dropped the game to the Delmarva Shore Birds Saturday night but bounced back Sunday to celebrate a nice win.
Only got a few photos because I was there as a fan of baseball and it was much more fun to watch the games in the beer garden.
Until next post, be kinds, be safe and you can’t have pudding if you don’t get your greens (jersey that is)!
