Football, it’s not just for Friday nights anymore.

October 27: Little men playing a big man’s game.

Friday night under the lights is an iconic American event. High School football being playing across this big country. Wooden bleachers, cheerleaders, marching bands.

Here locally, at least, there’s also Middle School football. And when it comes to cross-town rivalries, it’s a big thing. Manteo and First Flight locking horns is a big ticket.

Except, the action is on Wednesday, not Friday.

Thing is, the kids and the fans elevate the games to the status of the Super Bowl. This is important stuff, a big game, ya know.

Until next time, be safe, be kind and “are you ready for some FOOTBALL???? Wednesday night style, that is.”
